Funding: Grants range in size from $500 to $3,000.

Learn About Our Grants

  • Are you a local organization in Colorado working in the Boulder County or nearby area? This is the grant track for you! We work with many local partners to support projects in the community. We typically allocate the majority of our annual grants budget to local grants.

  • It all begins with an idea. If you are an international project outside the United States, this is the grant track for you. While a smaller allocation of total funds go to this grant track, we often provide thousands of dollars to more than one cause each year.

We happily consider contributing to larger projects with other funding sources and are willing to apply for matching funds at our Rotary District (5450).

  • Sometimes money is needed NOW. We understand and are willing to consider emergency requests. We will check our accounts and resources to determine if we can help.

Please emphasize the emergency and the scale of need with your request.

Grants by Type

Typical Activities Funded:  Grants are typically targeted towards specific short-term projects, one-time events or unique or non-recurring needs.  Funded projects generally fall into, but are not limited to, Rotary International's Areas of Focus:

  • Peace and conflict prevention/resolution

  • Disease prevention and treatment

  • Water and sanitation

  • Maternal and child health

  • Basic education and literacy

  • Economic and community development

  • Environment and sustainability

  • Other community worthy project

Funding by Year

Our budget each year is limited by the amount we fundraise the previous year and any remaining funds from prior years. The Boulder Flatirons Rotary Club has a Grant Committee that receives, reviews, and recommends grants to the Boulder Flatirons Rotary Foundation (501(c)3) for approval and check writing. The Foundation holds and issues checks based on recommendations from the club.

While we do not have a certain amount to give each year, we will post the total amount at the beginning of each Rotary Year (starting July 1st of each year).

Funding by Year

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
