LITERACY award
• To recognize excellency in literacy* programs in Boulder County non-profits, public institutions (ie schools and libraries) and individuals.
IF YOU KNOW OF SUCH AN INDIVIDUAL or ORGANIZATION
• Please submit your nomination, electronically, including all additional pages (up to 3) to: awards@boulderflatironsrotary.org no later than August 15 each year.
• Nomination should include a descriptions of the program and what the individual/organization has done to promote literacy efforts in Boulder County.
• Nomination should include specific examples of the program including what has been done to promote and support literacy efforts in Boulder County.
• Your reason for nominating this organization or individual.
An up to $1,000 Cash Award will be presented to the chosen recipient (s). The recipient(s) will be recognized at a Club Meeting during the month of September, Rotary International’s designated Literacy Month.
*This involves an expanded definition of literacy, e.g. financial, health, reading, writing, media and digital literacy. This definition may evolve to address a changing community and world. The focus will remain on an acquired ability to handle information, to express ideas and opinions, to make decisions and solve problems regardless of the subject matter.
